The Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration Program is pleased and proud to announce the Spring 2024 winners of the annual awards given in recognition of student achievement.
The 2024 BPMI Leadership and Academic Achievement Award ($300 prize) is awarded to Emma Hoover-Grinde. This award is presented to a BPMI student exemplifying excellent leadership skills, while maintaining a high academic performance in the BPMI Curriculum. Strong candidates will demonstrate positivity about studying in the major, enthusiasm for Communicating Science Through Art, attendance at and rallying for participation of others in the BPMI Program and related events, support, and encouragement of other students while modeling optimism and a growth mindset about their own work, and similar activities.
The 2024 H.T. (Jack) Horner Scholastic Excellence Award ($200 prize) is awarded to Carter Wolfe. To be eligible for this award, students need to be a pre-BPMI major in their first year at ISU and not yet have completed BPMI 323. Both academic achievement and quality of artwork are considered for this award.
The 2024 Charles E. Townsend Studio Achievement Award ($300 prize) is awarded to Audrie Rathman. To be eligible for this award, students need to be a BPMI major, will not be graduating until the following spring, and have completed BPMI courses 323, 326, and 327 and ARTIS courses 230, 233, 330, or equivalent courses if you transferred. Quality of artwork is the main criterion for this award.
he 2024 Warren D. Dolphin Studio Excellence Award ($500 prize) is awarded to Kristine Murphy. To be eligible for this award, students must be a senior BPMI major graduating in the current spring, summer, or fall semesters. Quality of artwork and professional presentation will be the main criteria for this award.
